She works closely with their senior staff to understand their operations and competitive advantages, and in consultation with the Rainmaker team, uses that knowledge to develop a strategy for their successful expansion in Alberta. Prior to joining Rainmaker, Blaire spent close to two years as the International Business Development Manager at Calgary Economic Development (CED). This included positioning the city of Calgary in strategic markets, identifying international business opportunities and supporting Calgary companies in their efforts to expand globally. Blaire was also responsible for revitalizing and managing the Calgary Sister Cities program, which seeks to create and strengthen partnerships between the city of Calgary and other national and international communities in order to facilitate economic development and promote cultural understanding.

Blaire began her career at the Canadian Consulate General in Boston where she spent over five years as the Business Development Coordinator. Leading a team of three in the Market Information Centre, she supported the Trade Commissioners and worked with Canadian companies, from all sectors, that were targeting the northeast region of the United States as an export market.

She completed the Cooperative Education program and has an International Business Certificate from the École Supérieure de Commerce in Grenoble, France.
